Roots and Wings

Thank you Song
8

A thank you song for birds and trees.

silly birds with silly songs
piercing ears high pitched drum
ringing calls for whom to hear
space extends with ranging deer

forest is fuzzy yet needles are sharp
collecting difference across a golden harp
rings of song burst concentric waves
brushing nape outside whispering caves

jungle is strong covered in moss
deep old roots holding slopes from loss
liquid life coursing up long veins
drawn, dynamic, nourishing tame

what looks wild is deeply ordered
organized organs with cellular borders
smallest units of life combined
uprise powers reach for sun shine

so sweet wings can fly their route

thank you flight and lofted ones
thank you soar and rising ones

thank you song sounding bright
thank you bones flying light

thank you branches leaning long
thank you roots holding strong
