A poem in appreciation of a place to be, to stay, to live, to rest.

shelter makes home
where body can rest
unbind taut feet
unbutton the vest

set down burden
borne all day
settle these bones
on a bed of dry hay

thank you roof  
for sloughing rain
thank you walls
for diverting wind vane

thank you windows
for sharing light
thank you doors
for delaying fright
